According to Howard Fox: This ketubah is my personal ode to Marc Chagall, probably the most famous and instantly recognizable artist and style of Jewish art from the twentieth century. I tried to reproduce the airy nature of his story telling. A wedding couple floats above the composition, surrounded by the dove of peace, the yellow sun, a lone violinist and the head of a white horse. At the base of the work is the idyllic shteltl its warped structures and a lone red chuppah. A crescent moon pokes through the trees casting a white glow over the swirling blues. The peacock is an ancient symbol of fertility bespeaking the bond of love and family.
