Shabbat (or Shabbosin Yiddish) is the Jewish Day of Rest.  It begins 18 minutes before sunset on Friday and ends at nightfall on Saturday when three stars are visible in the night sky.

We regard Shabbat as a day of joy and holiness, a day of spiritual refreshment, and a way to recharge and bring peace into our lives.  We set this time aside to be with family, friends, and community.

How to observe Shabbat in your home:  It is one of the most wonderful observances to start in your home and the best place to bring Judaism into your life by starting to observe Shabbat in your home.  You will need to purchase a few items, they do not have to be expensive, and then you are set. has everything Judaica that you will need.
